Some ideas after 7 years in NZ

Welcome

After living in New Zealand for 7 years, I’ve had some time to reflect on my experiences and gather some ideas about life here.

1. Embrace the Outdoors

New Zealand is known for its stunning landscapes and outdoor activities. Whether it’s hiking, surfing, or simply enjoying a picnic in the park, embracing the outdoors can lead to a healthier and more fulfilling lifestyle.

2. Build a Strong Community

Kiwis are known for their friendly and welcoming nature. Building a strong community around you can provide support, friendship, and a sense of belonging. Get involved in local events, join clubs or organizations, and connect with your neighbors.

3. Appreciate the Work-Life Balance

New Zealanders value work-life balance, and it’s important to prioritize your well-being. Take time to relax, spend time with loved ones, and pursue hobbies and interests outside of work. This can lead to greater happiness and overall satisfaction in life.

4. Explore the Culture

New Zealand has a rich cultural heritage, including the indigenous Māori culture. Take the time to learn about the history, traditions, and customs of the Māori people. This can deepen your understanding of the country and its people, and foster a greater appreciation for the diversity of cultures in New Zealand.

5. Be Open to New Experiences

Living in a new country can be an opportunity to try new things and step out of your comfort zone. Be open to new experiences, whether it’s trying new foods, learning a new language, or exploring different parts of the country. This can lead to personal growth and a richer life experience.

Overall, living in New Zealand has been a wonderful experience, and I hope these ideas can help others make the most of their time here as well.
